Henzie Williams Sr

1943 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Henzie Williams Sr., 70, went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2014.  He was born in Allakaket on July 19, 1943, to Henry Williams Sr. and Merriam Williams. Later on, he was raised by Bessie Withrow, of Bettles.
Henzie was a fisherman, trapper and hunter; he lived a subsistence lifestyle. He went firefighting as a crew boss, was a laborer with the Alaska Railroad by Nenana, and helped his friends get house logs. He truly had a heart of gold and helped out anyone when needed. He had a great sense of humor and always put a smile on everyone's face.
Henzie lived, not only in Allakaket, but in Hughes, Bettles, Bedrock, Old Bettles, and Nenana. He had a large extended family, including all of the people from South Fork.
These last few years of his life, he lived in Florida with his sister, Eileen Crouse, and family.  Thank you for taking care of him.
He was married to the late Effie Williams and together they had a son, Henzie Jr., who was loved and cherished. They are now reunited in God's Heavenly Kingdom as a family.
Henzie is survived by his sisters, Jennie Irwin, Nellie Kellan, Margie Attla, Elsie (Ken) Bergman, Eileen (Larry) Crouse, Rose Williams, Priscilla Williams, Gladys (Steven Sr.) Bergman, Charlotte Williams and Sandra McCafferty. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, adoptive parents, his wife and son, Effie Williams and Henzie Williams Jr.; his sisters, Margaruite Williams and Valerie Diane Williams; his brothers, Elliott Koyukuk, Duncan, David, Gordon and Henry Williams Jr.
He was loved by his family. May he rest in peace.
Services will be today, March 18, at St. John's in the Wilderness Church in Allakaket.
