Juanita M. Nottingham Obituary
Juanita M. (Bean) Nottingham, 96, of Fairbanks, died Dec. 25, 2012, at Fairbanks Pioneers' Home.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Fairhill Church of God, 101 City Lights Blvd, Fairbanks, AK 99712 with Pastor Drennon Stepp officiating.
Juanita was born Dec. 24, 1916, in Bozeman, Mont., to the late Lyman and Gussie Crockett. Juanita was a 1939 graduate of Montana Deaconess Hospital, where she served as a nurse in OB, provided in-home care for the elderly in her home and taught nursing at a local college. 
In 1977, she came to Alaska to work for the State of Alaska's Public Health, providing care for those in Eagle, Circle, Manley Hot Springs and other small Alaskan communities. Juanita has written two books about her nursing experiences. She was involved in many ministries in Fairbanks, but one that was close to her heart was the Fairbanks Jail Ministry. Juanita had an amazing capacity for compassion and love for her fellow man.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband in August 2010, the late Charlie Nottingham; her first husband, Armond Bean, in April 1985; brother, David Crockett; sister, Dema Jerome; daughters, Linda Davis, in February 2009, and Bonnie Bean in 1961.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Caleb) Pomeroy, of Fairbanks; son, Tim (Toni) Bean, of Tennessee; grandchildren Kathleen, Jackie, Kim, Wayne, Kevin (Crysteen), Keith (Tammie), Kent (Tara), Kristine (Charles), Kurt (Ruth), Benjamin (Heather), Christopher, Courtney (Andrew); and 22 great-grandchildren stretched from Montana to Alabama.
