June Rinks passed away Oct. 10, 2014, at Denali Center, one week short of her 89th birthday in Fairbanks. She passed peacefully but unexpectedly even though she had illnesses for several years.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Two Rivers Baptist Church, 22 Mile Chena Hot Springs, and will be officiated by Pastor Raymond Conde. After the services there will be a potluck meal.
June was born Oct. 17, 1925, in El Centro, California, to mother Kate Bresee and father Charles Roland Bresee. She lived in Alaska 28 years in the community of Two Rivers before going to live at Denali Center in Fairbanks. She married Junior Harold Rinks on March 22, 1942; they were married 38 years until his death in 1980.
June and Junior had four daughters born to them while living in San Diego County, California. June was most always a homemaker, devoted to her husband and family. She was a very talented woman. She loved cooking, gardening, camping, canning, knitting, crocheting and was a very fine seamstress. For years she sewed all her family's clothing. She took classes and learned to decorate beautiful cakes and create floral arrangements. She shared her talents by teaching many of these skills to her children, grandchildren, 4-H girls and church ladies. While raising her family, they were her first priority; she loved them all very much. She was saved and baptized at Two Rivers Baptist Church, where she was a member for many years.
Her family has many fond memories and will all miss her very much. The family wishes to extend thanks and gratitude to the Denali Center staff who cared for her so well for nearly the last ten years of her life. Had it not been for their good care she would not have done as well as she did in her later years.
June is survived by daughter Betty Conde and her husband, Raymond, of Two Rivers; daughter Barbara Carol Gable, of Jacumba, California; son-in-law Robert Thielges, of Two Rivers; grandchildren, Annette Chace and her husband, Tim, of Two Rivers; Sherri Fuller, and her husband Rick, of Roanoke, Illinois; Laurie Clark, and her husband, Jason, of North Pole; April Trickey and her husband, James, of Fairbanks; Troy Morgan and his wife, Stephanie, of Fairbanks; Cindie Chace and her husband, Mike, of Two Rivers; Marcie Ward, of Hemet, California; Kristina Johnson and her husband, Justin, of North Pole; great-grandchildren: Clinton, Jeremy, Alex, Maria Chace, Crystal Foster, Carl, Raelene, Darlene, Roy Fuller, Victoria Charleton, Lanae Easten, Ashley, Mason, Foster Clark, Ethan and Kayla Trickey; great-great-grandchildren: Katherine, Raymond, Larissa Chace, Macenzie, Morgan, Mattie, Wyatt, Andrew Chace, Ellie, Annabelle, Levi Foster, Shannon; Justin, Marshal Chace, Troy Morgan, Vanessa Johnson; two great-great-great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kate and Charles Bresee; her husband, Junior Rinks; all her siblings; daughters Sharon, June, Mara and Kathleen Joy Thielges; grandchild Steven Horsfall; and great-grandchildren, Blake and Tara Jo Fuller.
