Larry Coy Obituary
Born in October 1948, his passions included prospecting, carved art, restoring machinery, and he was as at home on a trail as the wildlife. He homesteaded on the Kantishna River and raised a family there.
In the mid-1990s, he moved to Nenana and started Roughwoods Inn with his wife. As a father, husband and friend to many, he will be missed greatly by all.
There will be no service at this time at the request of the family.

Dear Ruth and Family,
I emailed the Roughwoods website before, but wasn't sure if the email was active. I just wanted to let you know how hard this was to hear for all of us. Larry was the first person we met on the river, and he became our first and closest friend in Alaska for a number of years. It is hard to find the words for a time like this.
I'll always be grateful for his genuine friendship, sharing spirit, and easy laughter. As a teenager, he was just the friend I needed and he was a good mentor. I'll never forget how glad I was when I knew we would be seeing you all after break-up or at Christmas. My heart goes out to all of you, and I know I am speaking for all of our family.
I regret that I won't be able sit down with him for a cup of coffee and laugh over the old river stories again.

Larry remains in our memories as a stand up guy who held together his family, business and the Alaskan lifestyle we all cherish.

We will greatly miss Larry (Emmet) Coy. He was brother and brother-in-law and Uncle to this family. The Coy Clan will always remember many good times shared with him and the family here on the Kantishna River, Montana and Wyoming. We look forward to when he comes back with Christ. We will have another family gathering and celebrate. God Bless and much love to Ruth , children and grandchildren.
