Tristana Laurene Doan was born in Fairbanks to Nixie Doan (Skelton) and Don Doan on June 14, 1977. She passed away unexpectedly March 1, 2011 at the young age of 33. Trista was raised in Fairbanks by her mother Nixie and father Don and later by her stepfather, Harold Skelton.|
Trista was so full of life, and her life was her precious daughter, Ryann Zimmer. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her love for family and her tenacity to face life's many challenges.
Trista enjoyed softball, bowling and her constant companion, "Baby Dog". She had an enormous heart and it brought her great joy to help people less fortunate, and if there was a stray animal, she would bring it home. Trista attended college at the University of Alaska Anchorage, managed The Fudge Pot downtown with her mother and was known by many.
As a little girl, she was her mother's sunshine on a rainy day. She always lit the room with her smile. Trista struggled as a young girl, but turned her life around with the birth of her daughter. The last five years have been devoted to building a strong, happy, beautiful little Ryann. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and everyone she touched.
Trista is in a safe and loving place with her beloved grandma "Maga"' Grandpa Jack and Stepfather Harold Skelton, her Grandma and Grandpa Doan and Uncle Martin who all preceded her in death.
Left to mourn her passing are her precious daughter Ryann, her mother Nixie, her beloved brother Travis and his wife Cortnie, father Don Doan (Liz), stepsiblings Jordan, Jonathan, Rachael; aunts Jackie (Greg), Betsy (Darrell), Abbie (Denny), ; and cousins Greg and his daughter Tiyanna Mitchell, Bobbie (Jeff) and their sons Tayler, Ty Munson, Eli McLean, cousin Chris (Linette) Sabrina, Kaitlin, Hally Jordan, cousin Greg (Erin) and their sons Christian, Collen, Cayden, Cody Jordan, cousin Nick (Breann) and son Kael Evans, cousin Jeremy (Terra) and son Calvin Preslan, cousin Ashley (Derrick) and daughter Taylee Fiatoa, and cousins Paul (Julia) and Nicole (John).
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Pikes River Front Lodge Binkley Room at 4:00 p.m. A fund account has been set up for Ryann Zimmer at Wells Fargo.
We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain, to walk with us throughout our lives.
