Janet Rose Isaac of North Pole/Dot Lake, passed away peacefully Nov. 17, 2011, at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Her last days were spent surrounded by her loved ones.

Janet was born Dec. 22, 1946, in Tanacross to Traditional Chief Andrew and Maggie Isaac. She was raised in the village of Dot Lake and was valedictorian when she graduated from Tok High School in 1964. She also attended college at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Janet worked for the United States Postal Service and Doyon, Limited. A few of her interests included reading, beading, going for drives, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved visiting and talking on the phone with friends. Janet also enjoyed being involved in the Lions Club and Moose Lodge.
Janet is preceded in death by her mother, father and sisters, Bertland, Kathy and Louise.
She is survived by her daughter Melanie (Russell) Brenner, son Aaron (Charity Stout) Emerick, grandsons Nick and Chris Brenner, brother Wayne Isaac Sr., nephew Wayne Jr. niece Wanetta and her children's father and good friend Dewey Emerick.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at St. Matthew's Church in Fairbanks with a funeral service directly following. An additional service will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 26, 2011, in Tanacross. Upon her request, Janet will be cremated and her remains laid to rest next summer next to her parents.
