Sandy Christine Graetzsch, 33, was born in Hassfurt, Germany, on Oct. 21, 1979.|
She moved with her family to Alaska in 1983. She attended local schools and graduated from North Pole High School in 1997.
Sandy was a loving person who was taken from us in a tragic auto accident on Nov. 30, 2012. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Sandy is survived by her daughter, Alexa Graetzsch; and son, Aiden Graetzsch, of North Pole; her mother and stepfather, Gisela and Jim Stowe of North Pole; sister, Ashley Stowe, of North Pole; grandmother, Vera Rawlin, of North Pole; aunt and uncle, Carol (Don) Hayes, of North Pole; uncle and niece, Edgar Stowe (Sierra), of Kentucky; and from Germany, grandmother, Ida Graetzcsh; uncle and aunts, Harald (Brigitte) Graetzsch and their daughter, Carmen; Sendi (Ralph) Wagner and their sons, Timo, Nico and Connor; aunts, Doris Graetzsch and her son, Simon; Manuela Taylor and her children, Raymond, Jennifer and Michelle; Marina Graetzsch and her sons, Kevin and Marcel, and other numerous relatives.
Sandy was preceded in death by her grandfather, Manfred Graetzsch; and her uncle Uwe Graetzsch.
A service will be held at a later time in Germany. In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, an education fund will be set up for her children, Aiden, 6, and Alexa, 10, and can be mailed to P.O. Box 58625, Fairbanks, AK 99711.
Arrangements were entrusted to Fairbanks Funeral Home.
