M. Wayne Hoffman Obituary
M. Wayne Hoffman, 76, ended his life journey Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in Tok.
He was born in Kansas, a "dust bowl baby." 
Wayne was a longtime Alaskan living in Anchorage and Tok. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and volunteered serving for three years. He was married for 56 years to his wife, Carolyn. 
Wayne started working at age 12. He was a fireman in Walla Walla and Spokane, Wash., and Anchorage.
He attended vocational school for three years to become a licensed electrical tech. He was an electronic tech with ACS/RCA/Alascom for 30 years.
He also was a little league coach and served on the school board. He was the Class of '79 senior class chaperon, was involved with the Dog Musher's Association, Tok Clinic board and a volunteer EMT II.
He loved football, boxing and was an accomplished sprint sled dog musher. He could find a coffee shop in any place he was, and he loved every minute of his 22-year retirement.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of Alaska; son, Delbert, of Alaska; son, Jim, twin of Kimmy who has preceded, of Alaska; daughter, Deanna (Matt) Dancer, of Alaska; granddaughters, Allysha Meyer and Melissa Bean, of Alaska; grandsons, Kyle Dancer and Travis Bean, of Alaska; and brother, Ron (Nancy), of Washington. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, oldest brother, Jerry; and daughter Kimmy.
There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Tok Cemetery followed by a remembrance and celebration of Wayne's life at Tok V.F.W. The Rev. Terry Brigner will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home.
