Cheryl Foster, beloved wife to Scott, and mother to Colton and Marisa, passed peacefully at home after a long illness on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.
Cheryl grew up in Brunswick, N.Y., and after marrying her high school sweetheart they spent the next 27 years traveling the globe together. Their first born, Colton Lee, was born in May 1989, in Wurzberg, Germany, followed by their cherished daughter, Marisa Rene, in April 1992, in Fayetteville, N.C.
Cheryl was an admirable Army wife who served her country with distinction. When the Army relocated them to Fairbanks, Cheryl knew this was home.
Since 2002, she enjoyed the great outdoors, including camping, fishing, snowmachining and traveling the great Alaska frontier. She managed to root for her NY Giants and keep them close to heart.
Although Cheryl was ill, she found the strength to instill a sense of family with her children. She loved to laugh, to smile, and enjoy life, and would want all of us to do the same.
Cheryl's children request that in lieu of flowers or donations, you hug your mother and tell her how much you love her.
A brief celebration of Cheryl's life will be held for close friends and family at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, Chapel of Chimes, 415 Illinois St., Fairbanks.
A New York memorial service or her East Coast family and friends will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements were entrusted to Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home.
