Edward George Demoski, 76, of Nulato, died Feb. 23, 2013, at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. A visitation will be held from noon to|
1 p.m. today, Feb. 26, 2013, at Fairbanks Funeral Home, 3704 Erickson Avenue, Fairbanks. Burial and services will follow in Nulato.
Edward was born Oct. 13, 1936, in Nulato, to the late Robert George Sr. and Belinda Demoski. He spent his life as a trapper, hunter and subsistence user. He spent his younger years in Kaiyuh.
Edward "Rutz" was a good singer and especially loved Hank Williams songs. He was noted for not finishing any particular song except under the right conditions.
He was raised by his grandmother, Mary Esmailka. He loved all his nieces and nephews and he helped them whenever he could. Rutz was taken care of by special friends, Dean and Rita Painter, and Ellie Stickman.
He is survived by his brother, Victor Demoski; sister, Barbara Paquette; nephews, Gerald, William and Luke; nieces, Ragine, Linda, Darlene, Sherry, Ruth, Colleen, Julie, Catherine and Georgia.
In addition to his parents, Rutz was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Esmailka; siblings, Mary Pilot, Alfred Demoski, Robert Demoski Jr. and Ethel Brush.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fairbanks Funeral Home.
