Laura Grace Barrette was born April 14, 1965, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Irene and LeRoy Moon. Laura left this life Feb. 19, 2013.
Laura married Allen Barrette on Sept. 30, 1988, in Augsburg, Germany, while serving in the U.S. Army. They had three children together: Jacob, Mickinze and Ashley.
Laura was a faithful member of Hamilton Acres Baptist Church and taught pre k-3 at Hamilton Acres Baptist School for the past 12 years.
As a result of God's work of grace in her life, Laura was a faithful wife, mother, teacher and church member for many years. She served honorably in the U.S. Army and lived in Fairbanks for the past 25 years.
In 1996, Laura trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of her sins and the complete salvation of her soul. Therefore, we are assured she entered heaven and is now rejoicing in the presence of her creator.
She is survived by her mother, Irene; and many wonderful siblings: Bobby, Lanie, Kenny, Linda, Johnny, Diane, Peggy, LeRoy, Edna, Mickey, Karen and Sandy; her husband, Al, and their children, Jacob, Mickinze and Ashley.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Moon Sr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Treatment Center in Fairbanks or to Hamilton Acres Baptist School.
A funeral service was held at Hamilton Acres Baptist Church on Feb. 23, 2013. Videos of the service are available upon request: (907) 456-5995.
