Kent Farni, 85, of Fairbanks, passed away March 18, 2013, at Agewise Alaska Assisted Living Facility in Fairbanks.

No memorial or funeral service is planned and his remains will be delivered to a private cemetery plot near Hammon, Okla.
Kent had been contending with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and congestive heart failure for some time.
Kent was born April 10, 1927, in Hammon, Okla., and came to Alaska in 1967. Kent spent time in the Navy and Air Force and worked at several occupations, including Ampex Electronics, Bureau of Land Management firefighting and in the construction section of the state Department of Transportation.
Kent was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Kent will be remembered for his reliability and sense of humor.
Kent is survived by a younger sister, Joan Farni, and an older brother, Bruce Farni, both of Elk City, Okla.; and various nephews and nieces.
