Donald Theodore Kiehl left his family and friends unexpectedly May 10, 2013.
The Guest Book is expired.
Don was born in Detroit Lakes, Minn., on May 27, 1940, to Alice Lundeen and Theodore Kiehl, and moved to Alaska in 1974. Alaska was home and represented everything Don lived for.
Don was the father of three children, Butch, Becky and Tim. Upon arriving in Alaska, Don worked for NC Machinery and Eielson Air Force Base, but quickly decided to work for himself. Don was a hard working man and could always be found with a new idea and a new plan to accomplish something.
Don loved the outdoors and doing things no one else could do. In the end this was what took Don's life, doing what he loved in the great Alaska outdoors.
Don is survived by his children; his grandchildren, Max and Annie; three sisters, Judy and Vernon Block, Donna Wiese and Carol Hanson; and brother, Duane and Donna Kiehl. He also is survived by his aunt, Mary Jane Kiehl; cousin, Kenny Kiehl; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
