Martha "Marty" Baldwin passed away June 26, 2013, in Fairbanks, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
The Guest Book is expired.
Marty was born July 26, 1943, in Bainbridge, N.Y. She grew up in upstate New York where she met and married Murray Baldwin on May 25, 1963.
Marty followed her husband to Alaska in 1976, where Murray worked as a carpenter. Marty began her career working in the medical field.
Marty loved to cook for her family and friends. No one went hungry at her house. She loved cooking so much she wanted to pass along her gift. She made cookbooks for both of her children. Marty was an avid reader and enjoyed a good game of golf. Later in life, she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren.
Marty is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Murray, of Fairbanks; daughter Cindy Learned, and son-in-law, Scott, of Fairbanks; son Ed Baldwin, of Fairbanks; grandchildren Ashlyn and Allan Baldwin, of Fairbanks; and numerous relatives throughout the U.S.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marty's name may be made to the J. Michael Carroll Cancer Center through the Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation.
