Gregory Champlin Obituary

Gregory Dean Champlin, of Fairbanks, went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2013. Born Jan. 4, 1972, Greg was 41 years old.
Greg loved playing and teaching his sons life's lessons. He enjoyed riding his ATVs and snowmachines with family and friends, and he fed his need for speed with drag racing cars and motorcycles. He loved riding his Harleys on road trips and local quiet back roads, feeling the wind on his face, sun on his back and freedom in his heart.
Fishing in Valdez, and local rivers and lakes was his favorite way to relax and enjoy Alaska's beautiful and rugged country. In recent years, he began remodeling his home, turning it into the family dream home, a place where his entire family could come and enjoy one another.
He endured many trials, overcoming them, by facing his challenges head on. Some trials were harder than others, but he always tried to do the right thing. If someone called in need of help, day or night, he was there for them. He lived hard, played hard, rode hard and loved hard. Those who knew him understood, he was a man who believed in living life to its fullest, through generosity, love and the school of hard knocks.
Greg is survived by his loving partner, Dawn Sanders, of Fairbanks; sons, Harley Champlin, of North Pole, and Cody Champlin, of Wasington; Chris Sanders, of Fairbanks; father, Lew Champlin, of Oregon; mother, Terri Christensen, of California; step mother, Roberta Champlin, of North Pole; brothers, Craig Dingmon and Chris Dingmon, of California; sisters, Holly Christensen, of California; Pamela Champlin, Kara Marshal, and Shenella Champlin, all of North Pole; grandmother, Constance Keller, of California; best friends, Brandon Morgan and Chris Fogli, of Fairbanks; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends, too many to name.
Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jennie Lorditch (maternal), Kenneth Champlin (paternal), Billy Dean Keller (paternal); Troy Barnett Charles and Mary Wallace, and step-father, Ron Christensen Jr.
A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. today, July 12, 2013, at Fairbanks Funeral Home, immediately followed by a celebration of life at his and Dawn's home.
Arrangements were entrusted to Fairbanks Funeral Home.
