2012 - 2013 | Obituary Condolences
Omari D. Murrill Obituary
Omari Danger Murrill was born Jan. 13, 2012 at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. Her parents are Jeremy Murrill and Ashley Leffler. She departed at 18 months of age on July 14, 2013, at St. Louis Children's Hospital, in Missouri.
Surviving family include her parents; and her sister, Kailee Murrill, and brother, Oden Leffler; grandfather, Kelly Murrill, and wife, Diane; grandmother, Lisa Murrill; grandfather, Phillip Leffler and Joan Hegland; grandmother, MaryBeth Groves; aunt, Andrea Jarboe and family, Jason, Taylor, Kara and Kyle; uncle Derrick Murrill Sr.; cousin, Derrick Jr.; aunt, Jessica Bobo and family; great-grandparents James and Carolyn Brown, and Don and Grace Murrill; and numerous second cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles.
She was preceded in death by uncle Owen Leffler; great-uncle, Tony Murrill; great-aunt, Carolyn Martin; and great-grandparents, Victor and Elizabeth Leffler, and Jack and Beverly Groves.
Omari was a strong, beautiful, blue-eyed, curly haired little girl who never let her spirit wither against any and all odds. She was diagnosed with Alveolar Capillary Dysplasia at age 7 months and lived with that extremely challenging fate with a smile upon her face.
We treasured every moment of time together. We were especially thankful that we decided to put off the transplant for the priceless six months we spent at home in Alaska celebrating the holidays and Omari's first birthday.
She underwent a double lung transplant on April 21, 2013, and was at that time the oldest living child with her diagnosis. Omari did well for the first month, post transplant, but respiratory distress plagued her last two months, and on Sunday, July 14, God called her home.
Though in our lives a very short time, she touched many hearts and inspired us all. We will be honoring her with a memorial service at 2 p.m. July 27, 2013, at Faith Lutheran Church in Eaton, Colo. A private family interment will be held Monday, July 29, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
