Jada Morgan, Jr.
April 6, 1922 - February 17, 2013
Raleigh
Jada Morgan, Jr., suffered a stroke earlier in the week and passed away peacefully on Sunday, 17 February 2013, at Hospice of Wake County. He was born in Wake County on 6 April 1922 to Jada Morgan Sr. and Merdie Denning Morgan and has remained a proud North Carolinian for his entire life. Jada married the love of his life, Rachel Hamilton Morgan on 8 November 1942 and was predeceased by her on his birthday, 6 April 2009. Jada and Rachel had two children, William Michael (Paula) Morgan of Westfield, New Jersey, and Patricia Morgan (Bing) Spence of Parker, Colorado. Jada's beloved granddaughter, Jenise Nicole Morgan, is a resident of Brooklyn, New York, and is currently in graduate school at New York University. Jada was predeceased by his mother and father and he leaves three brothers and their wives, all of whom he dearly loved.....Everett and Margaret Morgan of Cape Carteret, NC, Truett and Bessie Morgan of Wilmington, NC, and Curtis and Barbara Morgan of Richmond, VA. He also leaves his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Baldwin and Rebecca Mitchell of Raleigh.
Jada was a graduate of Cary High School and was happily employed by Carolina Coach Company for more than 30 years. He most recently resided at Arbor Oakridge Independent Living Apartments and was an ardent poker player twice a week. Jada deeply loved his family and was dearly loved in return! He had an extremely close relationship with his caregiver, Marchia Scott, for over twelve years. In Jada's eyes, no one could do anything as well as Marchia and he was absolutely correct. God Bless You, Marchia!!!
Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday in the Chapel Mausoleum at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh NC 27612. Burial will follow in their cemetery.
Jada's family is deeply indebted to his geriatric internist, Dr. Iftequar Ahmed, whose skills and compassion allowed Jada to live the best life possible. Our sincere appreciation also goes out to the superb nurses and staff at Rex Hospital, Sixth Floor East, as well as the extraordinarily kind nurses at Hospice of Wake County. In lieu of flowers to honor Jada's life, his family respectfully requests that you deliver a kind word or a kind deed to someone in need or consider making a donation to your favorite charity.
