Jacob Adolph "Jake" Williamson, Sr.

Jacob Adolph "Jake" Williamson, Sr. 80, passed away on October 3, 2013. Jake was born in Beaufort County on April 6, 1933 to the late William Harvey Williamson, Sr. and Ethel Woolard Williamson. He served his country in the United States Navy. Jake married the love of his life Joyce Ellington Williamson on July 23, 1953. Jake graduated in 1960 from Gaston Technical College in Gastonia. He was the owner of Metro Heating and Air Conditioning in Raleigh.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Beacon Baptist Church, 2110 Trawick Road, Raleigh, NC 27604 with Pastor Emeritus Dr. Randy Cox, Pastor Tim Rabon and Dr. Jeff Roberts officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Oakdale Cemetery, 180 E. 15th Street, Washington, NC 27889 with military honors.
Surviving is his wife, Joyce Ellington Williamson; daughter, Brenda W. Parker (Ralph McCrery) of Raleigh; son, Jacob A. "Jake" Williamson, Jr. of Calabash; grandchildren: Mandy (Chris) Blonk, Brooke (Alex) Rivers, Adam Parker, Leigh (Tony) Huelsman, Kyle, Logan and Dylan Williamson; great-grandchildren: Ella, Leah and Nolan Rivers, Caleb Blonk, Landon and Austin Huelsman; brother, Edward Morrow Williamson of Knightdale.
In addition to his parents, Jake was preceded in death by his brothers, Harvey Williamson, Jr. and Harold Williamson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
