Served Judge Greene's court in the 80s as a Garner Officer. Was routinely in Judge Greene's court and found him to be very fair and had high integrity. He served the county well and his ilk will be sorely missed. - Ed Livesay

I am very sorry to hear about the death of Judge Greene. No doubt this time is hard for the family. God in his Word promises that soon "he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." May God continue to provide strength and comfort through the family, friends and his Word.

I tried several cases before Judge Green and have fond memories of him. One case involved some chitlins that my client allegedly had not stored properly and thereby the chitlins had spoiled. “How can you tell?” said His Honor. He had a good sense of humor and was a fine Superior Court Judge to boot. He will be missed, and I hope fond memories of him will soon replace the sorrow of losing him.

As a classmate/friend of George Greene, Jr., and friend of the Greene family, I am deeply saddened by the passing of Judge Greene. However, fond memories throughout the years will last forever. I smile when I think about staying at the Greene cottage at Topsail, looking at the photos from fishing trips that he and my dad (James 'Bobby' Daye) took together, and the annual fish frys !!!
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

To Ruby and the family we have lost a true Southern gentleman. I worked with Judge Greene for several years and he was a pleasure and a man of great understanding for the everyday person. It did not matter to Judge Greene if you were educated or not he was always there to listen, that was his gift to the people. I know he will be missed by his family the people of Wake County will remember him for his compassion for others. Judge Greene was more concerned about helping the people rather than worrying about what others thought of his decisions. In my book he was the best and a people's judge. I will be thinking of you on Friday as you lay him to rest, as the the gavel falls. God Bless
