Sidney, M. Maddox, age 96, Brentwood, TN November 20, 2012. Born on July 19, 1916 in Santa Monica, California, the son of C. Sidney and Ida (Roe) Maddox. He graduated from the Univ. of Redlands, Redlands, CA and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY. During his long career, he served the following churches: First Baptist, Las Curces, NM; First Baptist, Stillwater, OK; First Baptist, Hopkinsville, KY; Twelve Oaks Baptist, Paducah, KY; Lockeland Baptist, Nashville, TN. A past President of the Kentucky Baptist Convention. He also served on the Board of Trustees of Oklahoma Baptist Univ. and the Annuity Board and Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Dorothy McKinley Maddox; sister, Virginia Maddox Kunkle; brothers, Brougher P. Maddox and Donald H. Maddox. Survived by daughters, Mary Lynne Maddox Brooke of Tucson, AZ, Carol Ann Maddox of Raleigh, NC and Sara Maddox Seiberling (David) of Brentwood, TN; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 12 noon on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 222 Belle Meade Blvd. with a visitation to immediately follow. Burial will be private.
