MacMurray, Joan Ruth - Cary  
Joan Ruth MacMurray Cary Joan Ruth MacMurray, 83, of Cary, NC, passed away at home on Monday July 27, 2015 surrounded by her family. Born in Paterson, NJ, she was a long-time resident of Essex County, graduate of Montclair High School (NJ) and valedictorian of her class at Lasell Junior College (MA) in 1951 with an Associate of Science degree. She was employed by Organon Pharmaceuticals for 22 ½ years before retiring as supervisor of customer service in 1994. She became a resident of Cary in 1997. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and was an active member of the Newcomers bowling league (team Girlfriends) through 2015.Beloved mother of three daughters, Nancy Ferrara of Cordova, MD, Ruth Moraga of Asheville, NC and Carol Kinder of Cary NC; son-in-laws Matt Ferrara and Mario Moraga; grandmother of Marissa, Javier, Gabriel, Eliot, Noela and Olivia Moraga and Troy and Abbi Kinder; sister to Paul Joseph Cardinal, Jr., of San Francisco, CA, John Cardinal of Longmeadow, MA, Richard Cardinal of Fountain Hills, AZ, Anne O'Connell of Jackson Twp, NJ, and Carolyn Cardinal-Walker of Houston, TX.She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Lorene Cardinal, her sister Lorene Cardinal Welsh and brother Alan David Cardinal. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral mass at 11:00 am on Monday Aug. 3 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church on High House Rd. in Cary. Visitors will be received in the gathering area at 10:30. Interment immediately following at St. Michael Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607. Arrangements are under the care of the Cremation Society of the Carolinas www.cremationsocietync.com
