Allen, T. Justin - Willow Spring
Thomas Justin Allen Willow Spring Thomas "Justin" Allen, 31, of Willow Spring, NC, passed away at his mother's home on Sunday, June 26, 2016, believed to be from a brain aneurysm. Justin was born in Raleigh, NC, on December 28, 1984. He graduated from Fuquay-Varina High School in 2003. Justin grew up working with his dad and officially joined the Tommy Allen Plumbing business in 1999. He worked alongside his father for many years before starting his own plumbing business in 2010. Justin earned his NC Plumbing License and his General Contractor's License. In 2015, with the passing of his father, Justin took over and merged the two businesses into one. He decided to keep the Tommy Allen Plumbing name to honor his father and the business he worked so hard to build. Justin married his best friend and beloved, Jeanette "Jeani" Daniel Atkins Allen, on September 26, 2009. They were married seven years. While work was Justin's passion, he also loved to hunt and enjoyed tinkering with the mechanics of RC cars, planes and his own truck. Spending time with family and friends was important to Justin who was adored by his nieces and nephews. Justin's dogs were another favorite pastime – he trained his Labrador Retrievers, Molly, Dixie and Lacie to hunt. Jolie, his miniature Dachshund, was his lap dog. Justin will be best remembered for his zest for life, strength of spirit, kind-hearted nature, love of family and hard work ethic. His spirit is carried on by his wife Jeani and the impending birth of their first child, his surviving family members and friends from every walk of life. Justin is survived by his wife, Jeani Allen; mother, Diane Medlin Allen; father- and mother-in-law, Jack and Jill Atkins; sisters, Jenny Allen Jones and Brittany Allen Lewter; sister-in-law, Jaci Atkins Miller; brother-in-law, Jack Barry Atkins, Jr.; and 14 nieces and nephews. Justin is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Earl Allen, and his favorite lab, Molly. The funeral service will be held at Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church, 10212 Fayetteville Road, Fuquay-Varina at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2016. Mr. Andrews was born in Carrboro, N.C. on June 3, 1939 to the late Henry "Raymond" Andrews and Clara Dell Hackney Andrews. Having graduated from Chapel Hill High School with the class of 1957, Mr. Andrews was a long-time resident of Orange County. As a teenager he worked at Fowler's Food Store, Colonial Drugstore, and UNC-Chapel Hill. Prior to leaving Chapel Hill, Mr. Andrews was a member of University United Methodist Church, the Sunshine Rotary Club, and served on the Board of Directors for The ArtsCenter in Carrboro. Mr. Andrews will long be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and for being a die-hard Tarheel fan. A member of the Rams Club, pulling for the "Heels" was his true passion. In more recent years, he also enjoyed spending time at Emerald Isle, N.C., in the home he named "Shack-a-lack", attending his annual PIKA reunions, singing in the choir at Elm Grove United Methodist Church, caring for the birds at "Rosewood Farm", telling stories from his youth, and seeking out a "good buffet". Also left to cherish his memory are his five grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Grand-Poo", Grant and Jackson Logan of Hickory, N.C. and Bronte, Joseph, and Amelia Upshaw of Dunwoody, GA.. He is survived by his sister, Anzenette Jenkins, and brother, Kearney Andrews, both of Pittsboro, N.C., as well as three nephews and five nieces. Along with his parents, an infant daughter preceded him in death. His family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29th at Salem Funeral Home on 120 S. Main St. in Winston Salem, with the Celebration of Life Service to immediately follow at 2:00 p.m.. A graveside service will be held at Elm Grove United Methodist Church at 7240 Reynolda Rd., Pfafftown.
