Dorothy Lumley Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy “Len” Lumley, 65, departed from this life on Monday, October 12th at Hospice Home in High Point, NC. She surrendered her battle to a long illness. Len's warmth and smile touched many people and she will be missed by all. She was born in Chesterfield, SC on October 27th, 1943 to John and Maebelle Nicholson. Len later moved to Durham, NC where she attended and graduated from Durham High School. Those left to cherish in her memory are her loving husband of 46 years, Larry Lumley, and her daughter, Angel Lumley Campbell and husband, Gary Campbell, residing in Dallas, Georgia. Our family would like to extend our warmest gratitude for the gracious care by Dr. Holmes and staff at Piedmont Gastroenterology Specialists. We also would like to thank the Staff at Maplewood Vein & Vascular Clinic, as well as her In-Home Hospice of The Piedmont Nurse, Cindy Kelly and the staff at the Hospice Home in High Point for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Life Tribute Center of Cumby Family Funeral Servi ce in High Point, North Carolina.
