So sorry to hear the news Meg, however, what a full and complete life he had!! No regrets as you were a wonderful daughter. I only regret that I never had the opportunity to know your father. After all, a man who loved humor and music had to be a kindred spirit. Love from Beth and all the Saunderlin's

Our most heartfelt condolence to all of the Mergel family on the loss of Edward Senior. While he had a long and fulfilled life and was able to pass from this world peacefully there will no doubt be profound grief among you all, and here at Daito Bunka University in Japan we can only wish you all the comfort that comes from the fond memories and love of a life well lived. I feel that I came to know ‘Dad' through Ed Junior, my friend and colleague, and many an evening we swapped stories about our fathers with much laughter and love in our hearts. Such feelings and thoughts linger and hopefully will ease the sorrow of you all.
