Mrs. Marie Myers Franck, 92, died Thursday, February 27 at The Village at Brookwood in Burlington, NC. Born in Liberty, NC, Marie was the fourth of five children of James and Dottie Staton Myers.

Marie graduated from UNC-G (then Women's College) and briefly taught high school in Winston-Salem before moving to various locations around the country while her husband Roscoe was in the U.S. Army Air Corps. In 1954, Marie and Roscoe returned to the Kimesville community where she had grown up. As a homemaker, Marie was an excellent seamstress, but was best known for the culinary delights she bestowed upon her family and members of the community. Favorites were her chocolate éclairs, yeast rolls, and chicken pie. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and served as Sunday School teacher, treasurer, and in various other capacities. Marie was a member of the Ferguson Circle and was honored as a lifelong member of the United Methodist Women.

Marie was predeceased by her husband Roscoe, her parents, three brothers (Joe, Norwood, Elliott), and a sister (Ruth). Survivors include son, Ron Franck and wife Gail of Apex; daughter, Linda F. Fogleman of Burlington; daughter, Alice Saunders and husband Brad of Raleigh; and son, Robert Franck of Raleigh. She is survived by four grandchildren – Alex Franck (wife Ashleigh), Kristy Fogleman, Nick Franck, and Richard Franck – and five great-grandchildren – Allison, Brooke, and Blake Moore; Ty and Ella Franck. She is also survived by brother-in-law Jimmie Franck (wife Dot) of Trenton, NC and sister-in-law Ann Myers of Waycross, Georgia.

The family wishes to thank the staff of The Village at Brookwood and caregivers from Homecare Providers and Home Instead for their years of caring, loving attention. The family also wishes to thank Hospice for their support.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Kimesville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday at Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington, and at the church fellowship hall following the funeral service.
