Solon Baker "Rudy" Lockleair, Jr.

Solon Baker "Rudy" Lockleair, Jr., 64, of 8009 Lockleair Road, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at the VA Medical Center. He was born March 16, 1949 in Wake County to the late Solon Baker Lockleair, Sr. and LaRue King Lockleair. Rudy honorably served his country in the United States Army and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained in Vietnam along with the Bronze Star for bravery. He was a carpenter by trade, owning his own business, CL&M Builders.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, March 6, 2014 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 with Reverend Ron Brisson officiating. Burial will follow at New Life Church Cemetery, Rolesville. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:45 am at the funeral home and other times at the home.
He is survived by his wife: Bonnie Sherron Lockleair, sons: Steven "Brian" Lockleair (Michele) of Fayetteville and Joshua Shane Lockleair (Kathryn) of Zebulon; daughter: Lori L. Cyrus (Darrell) of Youngsville; grandchildren: Brianna, Nicholas, Rachel, Amberly, Kendall, Ian, Ryleigh, Phebe and a granddaughter, Kasey, due in July; brothers: George Dennis Lockleair (Cathy) of Zebulon and Stephen Anthony Lockleair of Zebulon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ruth Lockleair.
