I am a nurse who has been very sick with Lyme Disease. I did not know your lovely daughter but I felt like I did by the way you wrote about her passionate spirit trying to educate and help others when she was struggling so much with Lyme, which never seems to take a day off. I've been paralyzed twice with this dreaded disease, but know, as your daughter did that education is the key to get others help. She is my inspiration to keep spreading the word even when the days are hard. I'm sorry for your loss.

To your family: My deepest sypathies. I live in Rolesville and have a sister who lives in Wendell, we are Raleigh natives. We both suffer from Chronic Lyme Disease. The disease has changed both of our lives in ways not many people can understand. Your "In lieu of flowers please purchase a copy of Under Our Skin" touched me so much. As I tell my story to people that is always something I tell them, because watching the dvd is one of the only things that seems to help others understand our struggle. You are and will be in my prayers and thoughts.

Wayne, we were so saddened by the news of Johnette. Please accept our most sincere condolences and know that we are with you in spirit. It was nice to hear her last days were good and spent with family. With all her struggles over the years I am sure she is at peace. Sometimes answers we seek are not fully understood or complete. Just know she watches over you and will be with you always.
