Maria Alexaki Viniotis

Maria Alexaki Viniotis, 52, of Cary, formerly of Greece, passed away with her loving family by her side Monday, January 21, 2013 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. She was above all a loyal and admired mother, wife and friend.
Maria was born September 8, 1960 in Greece to Nikolaos Alexakis and Vassiliki Margonis Alexakis. She was preceded in death by her sisters Angela Tassula and Christina Kissa. Surviving is her cherished husband of 29 years, Yannis Viniotis; adored daughters, Despina Candice Viniotis Curtis and beloved son-in-law Simon Curtis of Raleigh; Eleonora Viniotis of Chapel Hill; and Natalie Viniotis of Cary.
"Among the cherished faces pictured on memory's walls; among familiar voices that sound in memory's halls, the loving face of mother is the dearest face I see, the gentle voice of mother had the sweetest sound to me."
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Duke University Chapel, 401 Chapel Drive, Durham, NC 27708. The family openly welcomes and encourages all who knew her to attend and will lovingly receive friends prior to the formal service at the family's home, where she welcomed each and every one with open arms, 105 Redfern Drive, Cary, NC 27518, on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 2-8 p.m and Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 2-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends to consider donations to the HHT Foundation (hht.org) and to spread the word about the importance of organ donation.
