Steven Laverne Steve Jordan, 49, passed away as a result of a bicycle accident on July 4, 2012.
Steve was born in Aiken, SC on September 12, 1962 to Iris Anderson Jordan Aiken and the late Carl William Jordan. He graduated from Charleston Southern University and went on to receive his Masters degree from University of South Carolina in educational counseling. On June 21, 1986, he married the love of his life, Angela Todd Jordan. Steven was the director of the North Carolina Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services. He was a very active member of Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church where he faithfully worked with Awanas and Upward Basketball.
Memorial Service 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church, 3329 Forestville Road, Raleigh, NC 27616.
The Jordan family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service in The Rock.
Surviving, wife, Angela Todd Jordan; sons, Chandler Foxx Jordan, Spencer Griffin Jordan, William Gabriel Jordan all of the home; mother, Iris Anderson Jordan Aiken and her husband, Harold Lloyd Aiken, Jr. of Pickens, SC; brother, Kenneth Carl Jordan (Sue) of Seneca, SC; sister, Cynthia Jordan Wise (Gerald) of Easley, SC; mother-in-law, Ester Hardee Todd of Loris, SC; brother-in-law, William Todd (Erin) of Little River, SC; special nieces and nephews, Seth, Daniel, Hannah, Leah, Lucas and Hunter Hagan, Hance and Hampton Todd, Tony Kelley (Angela), Cory and Lauren Kelley; a host of special friends and co-workers.
The family has requested that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made for the education of Steve's sons, Chandler, Spencer and William, c/o the State Employees Credit Union, Jordan Family Special Account, 4262 Louisburg Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.
