Thomas Whately Fore Jr.

Thomas Whately Fore, Jr., of Pittsboro, NC, died on Feb. 20th, 2013, after a 10 yr. battle with Alzheimer's. A memorial service will be held Sat., March 16th, at 3 pm, at The Chapel of the Cross, Chapel Hill, reception to follow.
A native of Roanoke, VA, Tom was the son of the late Thomas W. & Kathryn Fore. He is survived by his wife Nancy M. Fore; daughter, Stephanie A. Fore, & grandson Cordell Matthews of Kirksville, MO; son, Rev. James T. Fore, & wife Rev. Deborah Frye of Kannapolis, NC; brother, Kenneth E. Fore, & wife Cheryl of Winthrop, ME. He leaves step children Ashley E. Frost of Chapel Hill, & Andrew M. Frost of Pittsboro, NC. Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Marleen F. Caire, and stepson, Floyd D. Frost III.
He was a 1956 graduate of Jefferson High School, Roanoke, VA, & a 1961 graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Blacksburg, VA, with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Tom's life memberships included: Scottish Clan Anderson Society, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Bynum Ruritan Club, Durham Rifle and Pistol Club & the NRA.
