Louise Baker Rollins

Mrs. Louise Baker Rollins of Goldsboro died Friday, January 24, 2014 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center following a brief illness. She was born on January 30, 1921 to the late Henry Kearney Baker, Sr. and Minnie Gill Baker of Zebulon.

Mrs. Rollins graduated from Wakelon High School in Zebulon, Campbell College (now Campbell University), and Hardbarger's Business School in Raleigh.

She was a charter member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where she served as financial secretary and was a member of the United Methodist Women, receiving a recognition pin in 1991, as well as the Wesley Fellowship Class and the Golden Heirs.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years James E. (Jimmy) Rollins, a sister Dorothy B. Alford, and a brother Henry Kearney Baker, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at St. Luke United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 27 with the Rev. Adam Seate and the Rev. Earl Dulaney officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.

Mrs. Rollins is survived by a daughter Harriet R. Flowers and husband Bill of Fayetteville; a son Thomas J. Rollins and wife Ann of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Creighton Flowers and wife Daphne, Cameron Flowers, Charlotte Rollins, Michelle Rollins, and Matthew Rollins, all of Raleigh; two great-grandchildren, and three nieces and a nephew.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1608 E. Pine Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
