Donald Wiley "Don" Snipes, 59, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2014 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was a barber and co-owner of Man-Mur Barber Shop on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh for 25 years. He also worked in Fuquay-Varina early in his career.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 27, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Fuquay-Varina and other times at the home. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, at Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church, 238 Chalybeate Road, Fuquay-Varina. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
He is survived by his parents, Wiley and Eloise Dewar Snipes of Fuquay-Varina; son, Caleb Snipes of the home; sister, Marsha Snipes Caviness and husband Al of Fuquay-Varina; niece, Amber Weathers Honeycutt and husband Allen of Fuquay-Varina, and great-niece, Scarlett Honeycutt.
The family wishes to thank Don's many friends, co-workers, and customers for their prayers, cards, and support during this difficult time. They also wish to thank the workers of Transitions LifeCare (formerly Hospice of Wake County) for the care and compassion shown to Don during his illness.
