Ruth Owens Moseley died Sunday, July 6, 2014.
Ruth had been a resident at Golden Living Center in Greenville, NC for several years prior to receiving loving end of life care at the Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born July 26, 1922 to Hudie and Mollie Owens. She lived her life in Edgecombe County; a true farm wife and mother. She was the dedicated wife of World War II veteran, Amos C. Moseley. When her husband was called to serve his country in the Pacific Theater of World War II, Ruth was left behind with 3 small children all under the age of 5. She was a strong and loving mother surviving alone with her children during the war. Upon her husband's return from Japan, they settled into North Carolina farm life. Ruth worked the fields with her husband and children as well as performing all the duties of a homemaker to provide her family with a comfortable home. Ruth had a delightful and dry sense of humor which she used to regale her children with stories from her childhood. She maintained her dry wit throughout her life.
Ruth is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jim and Connie Moseley of Greenville, NC; her daughter and son in law, Linda and Paul Bright of Sanford, NC; her sister and brother in law, Doris and Danny Wainwright of Lexington KY; seven grandchildren, Dr. Robert Bright of Phoenix AZ, Randall Bright and wife Harriet of Pittsboro, NC; Donna Lynn Moseley, Esq., of Fayetteville, NC; Dr. Cynthia Moseley Kirby and husband Randy of Whiteville, NC; Kimberly Moseley Ladenthin and husband Tom of Grand Junction CO., Allen Moseley and wife Sara of Rocky Mount, NC; William Moseley and wife Lisa of Pinetops, NC; She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
