Philip Sabino Obituary

Philip James Sabino

August 8, 1970 - August 3, 2015

Raleigh

Beloved husband, father, son, was killed while riding his motorcycle home from work on Monday, August 3rd, 2015.

Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, he will be greatly missed by his wife, Christine, daughter, Adele, of Raleigh, NC, parents James and Katharina Sabino of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, his brother Victor Sabino (Ellen) of Las Vegas, NV, sister-in-law, Amy Kemp, brother-in-law, Bill Kemp (Cindi), sister-in-law, Jennifer Barrows (Mike), Uncles and cousins in Switzerland, and many well-loved nieces and nephews.

He attended Virginia Tech, was an active member of the Phi Sig fraternity, and graduated in 1993, with a degree in Management Science. He went to work as an Information Technology Consultant, and for the past 17 years was an employee of SciQuest, one of the few employees who had been at the company since its inception.

Known by his colleagues as a dedicated, loyal, hard worker, who went above and beyond, he was also able to get people to smile and laugh. Phil worked with clients of all strengths and sizes to understand the best options for their business and was the individual always chosen for the toughest assignments.

His friends describe him as gentle, kind, selfless, fun loving, hardworking, happy, and funny.

Phil loved the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, camping, and even yard work brought him hours of enjoyment. His hobbies included, scuba diving, sailing, auto mechanics, wood working, racecar driving, remote control helicopters, history, reading and motorcycle riding.

Most of all Phil loved his family. He was a wonderful husband, best friend and pillar of strength to Chris, who could not have asked for a better man to share her life with. To Adele, he was her one and only hero, dedicating hours every night to spend time with her playing games, reading, and doing artwork. They also enjoyed fishing, rock climbing and going to Jersey Mike's every weekend. No drive was too long to visit our many long distance family members.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

In the spirit of Phil's love of family and friends, a gathering will be held at Renaissance Funeral Home at 7615 Six Forks Road on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 4-7 PM.

On Friday, August 7th, there will be a visitation starting at 10:00 am with services at 11:00 am, at St Andrews Presbyterian Church located at 7506 Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh, interment will directly follow at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens located at 770 Stadium Drive, in Wake Forest, with a reception to follow back at St. Andrews.

The family would like to thank the motorists who called 911 for help after the accident, the first responders who arrived to try and help him, and most of all to the two women who rendered aid to him. We take comfort in knowing every effort was made to save his life.

An education fund for Adele Sabino has been established at the State Employees' Credit Union, for anyone who wishes to contribute. Any branch in North Carolina can accept a contribution in person, or by mail send to State Employees' Credit Union, 8551 Colonnade Center Dr., Raleigh, NC 27615, for deposit to Adele Sabino Trust Account.Condolences:rfhr.com

Dear Sabino Family,

May this note of sympathy in some way show you are in the thoughts of everyone you know. Because sometime words cannot convey the special things only the heart can say.

My sincere condolences to the family. May you find comfort and peace knowing many people care for you and Almighty God (Psalms 83:18) does too. He will give you the strength needed to continue on each day.

I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the gentle autumn's rain
I am the soft star that shines at night
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there; I did not die.

Almighty God, we entrust all who are dear to us to thy never-failing care and love, for this life and the life to come; knowing that you are doing for them better things than we can desire or pray for, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Jim and Kathi, I am holding you and your family in my heart in the wake of this heartbreaking tragedy, and I am sending you love, prayers and consolation.

Like the previous post, I was also a motorist on 540. I have been praying everyday for your family.

I do not know you but I was a motorist on 540. Your precious family has been on my mind so very much. I have been praying for you and your daughter. My strongest prayer is that you and your daughter hold Jesus hand here on earth while your bellowed husband holds His other in Heaven so that one day the three of you will be together again. I am so very sorry.

Our faith is tested when the best people are taken from us too soon. God must have big plans for this talented and caring individual. As a former Raleigh resident, my heart aches. Your entire family is in my prayers.
