Edward Harp Obituary
Raleigh
Edward "Ed" Kannon Harp passed away on July 15, 2016 at Tower Nursing and Rehab in Raleigh.
He was born in Wake County on March 23, 1923 to the late Grover Cleveland Harp and Oma Woodlief Harp. He retired as a route manager with Borden Ice Cream, and as an auto repairman with Asplundh Service Co., and Raleigh Delivery Service. As long as his health permitted he attended Central Baptist Church. He was very dedicated to his wife, the late Linda Collins Harp, his children, and his grandchildren.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.
The family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:45 pm at the funeral home and other times at the home, 1520 Vista Drive, Wendell.
Burial at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612.
Surviving: daughter, Patricia Harp Hinnant of Wendell; Becky Harp Roque (Michael) of Dallas, TX; grandchildren,
Chad Hinnant (Jennifer), Amber Hinnant, Colby Rose (Katie), Lyndsay Rose; great grandchildren, Emily, Elisabeth, and Owen Hinnant, Lincoln and Monroe Rose; sister in laws,
Valeria and Margaret Harp, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to your favorite charity, or to Central Baptist Church, 11109 Poole Road, Wendell, NC 27591.
The family would like to give special thanks for the care given by Tower Nursing and his church family.
