(97), of Santa Ynez, CA, on June 5, 2013, believing in Jesus Christ's death and resurrection, passed peacefully into the presence of God. Hazel admitted her need for the worthiness of Jesus to be with God and her deepest and greatest desire in life was to love, honor and serve the God of the Bible.
Her beloved believing husband, Virgil, entered heaven October 20, 1976. They had three children, James Sechler, Marion "Bud" Sechler and Patricia Sechler. Son Jim died believing and went to heaven in December of 2011. Loved and appreciated, Hazel leaves on earth her sister, Jerry Boehm of Lenexa, KS, sister-in-law Vera Taylor of Olathe, KS, daughter Patti Sechler of Buellton, CA, daughter-in-law Joy (Graton) Sechler of Oak Harbor, WA and Marion "Bud" (Marjory) Sechler of Litchfield, MN, Ten (10) grandchildren, Twenty seven (27) great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren.
Hazel's love for God meant serving others such as in teaching Good News Clubs, beginning the Santa Ynez Valley Meals on Wheels program, serving with Youth With A Mission (an international missionary/service organization) and leadership in her church's senior ministry. Prayer for family and others filled her life as evidenced by her extensive prayer list for people.
Family and friends are invited to the Celebration of Hazel's Person and Life on September 7th, 2 PM at her church, the Crossroads Church in Buellton, CA (236 La Lata Drive).
