Jack Johnston

Passed away on July 23, 2013 at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. His family was by his side. He was born in Bradford, PA to Gertrude and Jack Johnston. The family moved to Overton, Texas when he was baby. After graduating from High School he attended Kilgore Junior College. He was in the Navy from 1942-1945, serving the Pacific Theatre on the USS Bowie APA 137. He drove a Landing Craft boat taking Marines from the ships to the beaches for battle. He received his teaching credential from UCLA and was employed at SBCC for 30 years in the Printing Department. Jack went to be with the Lord and Saviour and is survived by his wife, Pat and his son, Craig and a sister, Beverly Skinner of Longview, Texas, and many nieces and nephews. He was a member of Calvary Baptist for fifty years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Jack, Jr. There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate Jack's Life on Saturday, September 7th, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 735 Islay Street, Santa Barbara. Additional parking in back of church on Pedregosa Street.
