Alma Louise Eckerstrom

The Guest Book is expired.

Passed peacefully away on September 28, 2013 surrounded by her family, she was 86. Alma was born December 1926 in Pond Creek Oklahoma to Colletta and Thomas Edward Puttock and moved to Santa Barbara in 1936 with her family. She graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1944 and met the love of her life Russell, who was then a student at Brooks Institute. Alma and Russ moved to the San Francisco Bay Area after they were married in 1949, returning to Santa Barbara in 1952. She worked for Security Pacific Bank and later assisted her husband in the operation of their retail business "Russ's Camera". Alma's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Russell, daughter Lisa Bregante, son-in-law Aldon Bregante, granddaughter Lindsay Bregante-Myers, grandson-in-law Marc Myers, granddaughter Jaime Bregante and future grandson-in-law Donovan Maccarone. She is preceded in death by her brothers Lawrence, Everett and Buddy Puttock.

And may we say that though her end is here, Alma lived a life that's full, she traveled each and every highway and more, much more. She loved, she laughed and cried and now as tears subside we say it clear ... she did it her way. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff that assisted in Alma's care at Cottage Hospital's Oak Park Pavilion 3. They would also would like to thank the incredible doctors, nurses and staff of Visiting Nurses Hospice Service's Serenity House for the wonderful care and concern for Alma and her family at the end of her life. Alma's life will be celebrated with a luncheon in December with her friends and family. In-lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations in her honor to VNHS Serenity House.
