January 14, 1921-December 15, 2013

Reba was born in San Francisco, California in 1921 and spent most of her early life in that city. She was a third generation Californian on her father's side. She attended Stanford University for three quarters, dropping out during World War II. She moved to Bakersfield, California in 1947, after marrying Fred Green. She was a founding member of the Junior League of Bakersfield in the 1950s and the Town and Country Garden Club in Bakers field in the 1970s. She lived in Santa Barbara from 1955 through 1964. Reba and Fred moved back to Santa Barbara in 1978. Reba played golf into her early 80s, and she had a lifelong love of gardening and entertaining. Out of her own experience, she often entertained newcomers so that they would feel welcome to the communities where she lived.

Reba was preceded in death by Fred. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Fred and Nancy Green of Bakersfield, CA and by her daughter and son-in law Ann and Jim Troppmann of Tryon NC, grand children Amy Troppmann and Tyler Troppmann and Anna Troppmann and great-grandchildren Wesley and John Tyler (JT) Troppmann.

The family wishes to express their profound thanks to all of the staff in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing at Casa Dorinda for their care of both our mother and father through the years. We give special thanks to GiGi Jacobo, mom's personal caregiver and companion for the last two years.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.

The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Junior League of Bakersfield or El Montecito Presbyterian Church.
