Died Friday, August 9, 2013, in Ventura California after a long illness.
Bill was born to Murray and Lillian Marks on July 15, 1948 in Los Angeles, California. His parents taught him to be kind and loving and he learned these lessons well. He grew up with many friends and a large extended family. Bill was an active, popular person and enjoyed surfing, dancing, reading, and learning. He was multi- talented and worked in diverse vocations - welder, mechanic, technician, painter, plumber, and driver. In the later part of his life, Bill overcame considerable adversity to earn a college degree and a drug counselor certificate so he could assist those who needed a helping hand.
Bill was a very caring person and a gentle soul. While he lived a difficult life, Bill was always a man of peace. He was deeply intellectual and spiritual and tried to accept people at face value without judging them for their weaknesses. He was always reading and carted a book with him where -ever he went.
Bill Marks, friend, brother, son. He will be surely missed. He left us with unfulfilled potential and lessons learned.
