2.27.27- 10.2.13) asked little and gave lots. Her passions were family, friends, patriotism, animals, and volunteering. Growing up in Inglewood, California she made friends through high school that lasted a lifetime and gained many more during her years in San Francisco, Honolulu and Santa Barbara. Aside from helping raise her son (thanks, Mom), supporting animal rescue agencies and working as a dental office and yacht club manager, she spent much of her time volunteering to help youth. From Mariner Scout leader to CASA to assisting kids dealing with autism at Kellogg School through the Foster Grandparents Program, she helped guide scores of young people through tough challenges. Many will miss her. She is survived by her son Tom, daughter-in-law Diane, grandson Tom, his wife Khamma, great grandson Jimmy, grandson Joey, and his wife AnnMarie. A celebration for her is planned for noon to 4 on Sat. Nov. 2 in Area B, Skofield Park. All her friends are invited to enjoy a BBQ with the family.Gifts in memory of Dottie to any youth organization (especially those focused on autism) or animal rescue /care facilities would be appreciated.
