Was born November 20, 1940 in Hartford, CT to Edward and Mary Burns. He passed away peacefully at his home in Solvang on February 24, at the age of 73. Robert grew up in Catskill, NY.
He loved the Hudson River and could spot it any time when watching TV or reading an article in a magazine. Robert attended St. Patrick's Academy and at the age of 17 joined the Navy where he served for 4 years. He then moved to Santa Barbara and became a hairstylist. Robert loved his clientele and worked at several beauty salons thru out the years. He worked in Montecito, then EI Patio, The House of Donann and finally The Salon. Robert loved working out in the gym and watching The History Channel and listening to some good blues.
He is survived by his wife Belinda, their 3 cats Hooch, Rudy and Cissy. He leaves behind his brother Edward Burns from Salinas, his sister Noreen Miller from Bakersfield and his other sister Kathy Yenigues from Visalia. He was preceded in death by his sister Jean Deyo from Catskill, NY. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
There are no services planned but Robert once talked about his ideal memorial service- Next time you walk by a dark old bar that you can hardly see in ... pick a spot on a barstool. Put a nickel in the jukebox and play some Ray Charles. Order up a nice cold one and smile while remembering your favorite Robert "Bob" story and chuckle... there were many!
May the road rise up to meet you and may the wind be always at your back...
