Bruce Monroe Obituary

Bruce Allen Monroe, age 47, died unexpectedly at Danbury Hospital on Friday, December 9, 2011, with his sons, Brett and Shawn Monroe, his mother, brother, father, nephews and other loved ones by his side. Bruce was a special person, who will be sadly missed and always remembered for his great sense of humor, compassion and his love of family and friends. Bruce was a devoted father whose main purpose in life was being a good father to his two sons who will miss him terribly. He was a huge sports fan, notably following the Pittsburgh Steelers, the New York Yankees and the New York Rangers. He also had a deep love for fishing, spending time near the ocean and traveling with his family. He was born in Danbury on October 3, 1964, son of Esther Monroe of New Fairfield and Clinton A. Monroe of Bethel. In addition to his parents and cherished sons, he is survived by his brother, Clint Monroe of New Milford, his wife Debroah and his two special nephews, Clint and Tyler Monroe, who loved him dearly. He also leaves behind his aunts, Hazel Stelzel and Marsha Ganser of Bethel, Elaine Rondeau of Salisbury, NH, several cousins and his special friends, Fernand Vadnais of New Fairfield and Bob Burke of Bethel. A gathering of friends will take place at the Hull Funeral Home 60 Division St, Danbury, on Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 pm. Other services are private. Please omit flowers. Donations in Bruce's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice. Information and online condolences at www.HullFuneralService.com

Bruce was one of the most energettic, fun loving person i have ever met in my short life. He lived to give and would do just about anything for his friends and loved ones. Its such a shame to see him pass at such a young age but at least he is finally out of pain. Ive spent a lot of time with him and his kids which are 2 of my best friends the past few years and I am very greatful that I was lucky enough to know such a genuine, honest and just all out great man. He was like a second father to me and will always be an insperation to me throughout my life. Rest In Peace Bruce. Wish you were here
