George J. Feli, 69, of Newtown, loving husband of Norann "Kookie" (Golder) Feli, died on Tuesday, August 28th at Danbury Hospital. George was born February 27, 1943 in Danbury, son of the late Peter J. and Margaret (Piskura) Feli Sr. George was raised on the family dairy farm in Newtown and graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Reserves. He retired from Steiner, Inc. in Bethel where he was employed as a carpenter for 41 years and he was proud to have built his own home. George enjoyed going to sprint dirt car auto racing with the Woo USAC and the All Stars. He was also a car cruiser and loved his 1956 Ford Victoria. He enjoyed bowling, going to the casinos and loved to travel with his wife after his retirement. In addition to his wife Kookie, George will be missed by his brother, Francis S. Feli Sr. and his wife Cathy of Newtown; his sister, Theresa Fuller and her husband Raymond; his sister-in-law, Deborah Ann Feli; his nieces and nephews, Michael, Jason, Chad, Fran Jr., Sherryl, Jeff and Cindy; two great nieces, Ava and Piper; one great nephew, Peter as well as many cousins, extended family and friends. He was "Grandpa" to Xavier, Logan, Aurora and Remmy. George was predeceased by his brother, Peter J. Feli Jr., and his nephew Raymond Fuller Jr. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 PM on Friday, August 31st at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. A graveside service will be held in Resurrection Cemetery in Newtown at 10 AM on Saturday, September 1st. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5 and time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
