Clarice Allen Obituary

Clarice "Claire" H. Allen age 71 of Bridgewater, passed away Saturday September 18, 2010 at New Milford Hospital after a year long illness. She is the wife of Clifford "Bud" Allen. Claire was born in New Milford, August 9, 1939, a daughter of the late Kenneth Zeiner and Frances (Collins) Zeiner Sweatt. She grew up in Roxbury and was a 1957 graduate of Washington High School. Claire was employed at the Bridgewater Village Store, while her children were in grade school and later was a volunteer at the Thrift Mart of New Milford. She participated in many community activities including Ladies Homemakers. Claire and her family enjoyed camping and created an extended family with fellow members of the Family Campers and RVers Club. In addition to her husband of 52 years, Claire is survived by four children, Kathy Fuller and her husband, Tim of Canton, N.Y., Karen Larson and her husband, Charlie of New Milford, Gary Allen and girlfriend, Pam of Bristol and Peggy Yarrison and her husband, Todd of Plymouth; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Benjamin and her husband, Edgar and Sally Billings and her husband, Don; grandchildren, Megan Sykes and her husband, Mike, Greg Fuller and his wife, Sara, Katrina and Kara Larson and Amanda, Kayla and Jacob Yarrison; a niece, Suzy Miller; a nephew, Scott Benjamin and her beloved dog, Rudy. Funeral Service will be held in the Colonial Funeral Home Tuesday evening, September 21, 2010 at 7 p.m. Family will receive friend in the Colonial Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
