Kenning, Patricia - Bethel  
Kenning, Patricia Patricia M. Kenning, 80, of Bethel, Ct., passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut Center in Danbury, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Dermot J. Kenning. Pat was born on February 22, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York to Patrick and Mary Ellen(Campbell) King. She attended St. Theresa Elementary School, Prospect Heights High School and received her nursing license from Caledonian Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She practiced nursing at Caledonian Hospital and Kings Highway Hospital for 25 years. Pat moved with her family from Brooklyn to Bethel in December 1976. She and her late husband were active members of St. Mary's Parish in Bethel. Pat was a Eucharistic Minister and taught Religious Education to special needs children. She was also a volunteer at Hospice for many years and active with meals on wheels. Pat was a passionate Brooklyn Dodger fan and enjoyed watching her children participate in sports. She enjoyed spending summers in Cape Cod with her children and grandchildren.In retirement, she traveled overseas with her husband to visit family. In addition, she was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her book club. Pat is survived by her five children, Jim and his wife Virginia of Newtown, Paul and his wife Margie of Bethel, Mary Pat and her husband John of Brookfield, Christine of Danbury ,Terence of West Dover, Vt.. She is also survived by her brother, Tom King, of Mesa, Az.. and her cousin, Helen Martens of Mount Sinai, NY. She is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Quinn, Sydney, David, Colin, Erin, Samantha, Sean and Eamon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 27th at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church in Bethel. Interment will immediately follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel. Calling hours are Thursday, March 25th , 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Kunic, Sr, Michael R. Michael R. Kunic, Sr, 71 , passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, Sleepy Hollow, NY. A resident of Pawling for 43 years, he was born in Danbury, CT. where he resided before coming to Pawling. He was born on July 28, 1943, and was the son of Michael and Ann (Miskar) Kunic. Before retiring, Mike worked as a produce manager in the Grand Union in Pawling. He married Myrna (Ballard) Rundall in Patterson, NY on September 1, 1979, and enjoyed wood working, gardening, and electronics. He is survived by his wife, Myrna; two sons, Michael, Jr. of Danbury and Scott of New Milford, CT; and two sisters, Jeanne Serwacki of Brookfield, CT. and Florence Pudalko of Danbury, CT; four step-children, Joyce Robinson of California, Joann Miller of Dover, NY, Jeffrey Rundall of Florida, and Jeanne Jobs of Pawling; five grandchildren, and 14 step-grandchildren. ller of Dover, NY, Jeffrey Rundall of Florida, and Jeanne Jobs of Pawling; two grandchildren,; and several step-He is predeceased by his daughter, Elizabeth Taperster, who passed away 2 ½ years ago, and his brother, Richard. MAC NICHOLL, ANNE C. Anne Catherine MacNicholl, of Bluffton, SC, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center. Mrs. MacNicholl was born in Lowell, MA, the daughter of the late James S. Boyle and Ruth Booth Boyle. She was a lifelong devoted Catholic. Mrs. MacNicholl is survived by her loving husband, John Edward MacNicholl; sons, John David MacNicholl (Mary) of Old Saybrook, CT, James Paul MacNicholl of Bethel, CT, and Stephen Francis MacNicholl (Lenore) of Danbury, CT; sister, Mary Slusher of Chelmsford, MA; and grandchildren, Kristina, Benjamin, and Matthew MacNicholl. A grave side service will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery in Danbury, CT on April 4th, at 11:00AM. A memorial mass will be held on April 17th at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Bluffton, SC, at 10:30AM. Mazako Jr., John - Oxford  
Mazako, Jr, John M. John Michael Mazako, Jr. 34, of Oxford, died unexpectedly on Sunday March 22nd. John was born September 14, 1980, in Derby, son of John M. and Jean (Sipe) Mazako, Sr. He graduated from Emmett O'Brien High School in Ansonia. He owned and operated White Tiger Landscaping and worked part time as a tow truck driver for Durable. He previously volunteered as a driver for the Ansonia medics. He was also devoted to his family and to his work. Besides his parents, he leaves five children, Cameron, Shaun, Anthony, Sapphire and Savannah; his sister, Kelly, and her husband, James Kirk; his grandmother, Geraldine Sipe; his fiancé, Teresa Walsh, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his sister, Beverly Riley, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry R. Mazako (Mozajko) and maternal grandfather, Mr. Leroy S. Sipe. Menken, Karen - New Fairfield  
Menken, Karen Kover. Karen Kover Menken, 73, died unexpectedly in her sleep on Monday, March 24, at her home in New Fairfield. Karen was born on September 15, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, graduating from Hackensack High. She received her A.A. from Centenary College for Women and her B.S. from Syracuse University. From 1963 to 1967 she taught kindergarten in New Jersey and New York, earning permanent teaching certification in New York State. Karen married Donald P. Menken in 1964. While their daughters Merideth and Andrea were young, the family lived in Poughkeepsie, New York and Austin, Texas. Karen was an active volunteer, particularly with Girl Scouts and Seton Medical Center. After moving to New Fairfield in 1980, Karen began working at JC Penney on North Street in Danbury, where she befriended many. Later she provided child care for several New Fairfield and Danbury families and was an active member of the Y in Brookfield. Karen made friends everywhere she went, and her friends would agree her nickname of "Smiley" was apt. In addition to her husband and daughters, she is survived by two sons-in-law, Trey Poulson of Alexandria, Virginia, and Jason Reeves of Green River, Wyoming; a brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Nilza Kover of Rio de Janeiro; and two nieces and their families. Moniz, Margaret S. Margaret S. Moniz, 86, of Southbury, died Thursday, March 26th in Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of Alvaro C. Moniz. Mrs. Moniz was born August 4, 1928, in Bermuda, daughter of the late Antonio and Margaret (Correia) Santos. She was a long-time resident of Danbury before moving to Southbury 15 years ago. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and an avid baseball fan. She is survived by her daughter, Hilda Henriques and her husband, Manuel, of Southbury; two grandchildren, Lisa Brower and her husband, Matthew, of Wilton and Michael Henriques of Scottsdale, AZ; two great-grandchildren, twins Alex and Katherine Brower and several nieces, nephews and godchildren. She is pre-deceased by her son, Alvaro A. Moniz and her brother, Frank Santos A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 30th at 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury. Morgado, Carolyn H. Carolyn H. (Gilbert) Morgado, 78 of Danbury, passed peacefully on March 26, 2015, at Danbury Hospital. Carolyn was born in Danbury, on January 31, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Irene (Folls) Gilbert and John Gilbert. She is survived by her three daughters; Pat Morgado of Fort Pierce, FL., Debbie Lockwood of Danbury, CT and Amy Peterson and husband Stewart of Chesterfield, VA., two sons; Michael Morgado and husband Robert Ward of Wingdale, NY and Paul Morgado and fiancé Lois Rynkiewicz of Orange, CT. She is also survived by her sister Doris Brought, of Danbury; and one brother, John Gilbert, and his wife Brenda of Danbury, Nine grandchildren, Judy, Danielle, Jennifer, Bill, Christopher, Mark, Zabrina, Derek, Marques, and seven great-grandchildren Nabil, Christopher, Joseph, Matthew, Michael, Halima, Aaron . She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews. Carolyn was predeceased by her sisters, Irene R. Gilbert, Emma R. Gilbert, Muriel J. Bradley, brother-in-law Edward Bradley, sister-in-law Marguerite Gilbert, and brother-in-law Robert Brought Sr. The family wishes to thank the staff at Saint John Paul II for all their loving care given to our dear mother. A funeral service will be held on Sunday March 29, 2015 at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, at 5pm Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Wooster Cemetery in Danbury at a later date. O'Grady, Jennifer S.. Jennifer Skemp O'Grady, 72, of Sandy Hook passed away on Sunday March 22, 2015, surrounded by her family, after a long and well fought battle with Lung disease. Jenny was born on March 2, 1943 in Chicago Illinois to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oliver Skemp. She grew up in Westport & graduated from Greens Farms Academy. Jenny summered in Sagaponack, Long Island as a child and continued to do so throughout her life, with her family. Recently she and her husband purchased a family dream home in Amagansett over-looking Napeague Harbor. Some of Jenny's passions included, world travel, her grandchildren, taking care of her animal friends, and volunteering as a broadcaster for her local fine arts radio station WMNR for over 25 years. Jenny is survived by her husband of nearly 52 years, Terence J O'Grady. She is also survived by their 4 children and 5 grandchildren; Terence O. O'Grady his wife, Nancy and their son Declan of Sandy Hook, Ct., John P. O'Grady, his wife Christine and their children Kayla and Rachel all of Sandy Hook Ct., Robert E. O'Grady of Florida, Catherine E. O'Grady her husband, Joseph Stromsky, and their children Jenna Mae, and Joseph of Sandy Hook, Ct. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Skemp Crandall of Portland Oregon and her brother Eric Tate Skemp of Cathlamet, Washington. Ohmen, Richard - New Milford  
Ohmen, Richard Richard Ohmen age 88 of New Milford, CT, formerly of Cornwall, CT died Friday March 20, 2015 in Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center, New Milford CT. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Olsen) Ohmen. Mr. Ohmen was born July 26, 1926 in Warren, CT, a son of the late Alfred Ohmen and Ruth Hatch (Whittlesey) Ohmen Whittlesey. He was a dairy farmer during the 1950's and 60's and later opened his on heating and air conditioning business 'Dick Ohmen Heating' retiring October 1, 1991, the day Connecticut state income tax went into effect.. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Volunteer Fire Department in Cornwall, CT. Mr. Ohmen enjoyed collecting stamps, traveling and was an avid Met's baseball fan. He also had a great interest in the railroad industry. Mr. Ohmen is survived by his son R. Drew Ohmen of Roxbury, his daughter Dianne Depatie of Pitsfield, MA; two sisters, Christina Johnson, Bridgewater, CT and Thelma Aldridge of New Milford, CT; two step children Karen Bohrer and Peter Anderson; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is predeceased by a sister Catherine Caldwell and two brothers Robert and Miner Ohmen. Family will receive friends in the Colonial Funeral Home Monday an hour preceding the service.Funeral service will be held Monday evening at 7 PM in the Colonial Funeral Home 87 Park Lane Rd., New Milford, CT.
