Elberta V. McCormack, age 98 of Danbury died on March 8th, surrounded by her loving family at Danbury Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late John T. McCormack.
Elberta was born January 26, 1916 in Worcester, MA the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Bartlett) Akers. Educated in Massachusetts, she was a graduate of Beckers College with an Associates Degree in Business.
Elberta worked in the secretarial field for several years prior to her marriage to John T. McCormack. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her spare time, Elberta enjoyed playing golf, card games, traveling and visiting casinos. She had been a resident of Danbury for over 70 years.
Elberta is survived by her children: Barbara Cyr and her husband Richard of Bethel, Judy Lynch and her husband Joseph of Danbury, Deborah Azzarito and her husband Tony of Pasa Robles, CA, and James McCormack of Rutland, VT, her daughter in law Carol McCormack of Pittsford, VT, 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her son William McCormack.
There are no calling hours. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
