George Pineman, 78, a longtime businessman and New Milford resident, died Oct. 9, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Karen (Kallenbach) Pineman, to whom he was married for 52 years. He was the owner of Pineman Sign Co., a residential and commercial sign company based in New Milford that marked its 50th anniversary in April. Mr. Pineman was born Feb. 13,1934, a son of George M. and Ella (Degen) Pineman. He grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. In addition to his wife, Mr. Pineman is survived by a sister-in-law, Jeanne Holden of New Mflford; a brother-in-law, Robert Kallenbach and his wife Marion of Milford; a sister, Ella Tiberio of New York; five nieces, Connie of New York, Linda of New Jersey, and Suzanne, Bonnie and Maureen of Texas; and 10 nephews, Parker Holden and his wife Stephanie and their daughter Emily of Harwinton, Eric Holden and his wife Ana and their children Gabriel and Gigi of Atlanta, Ga., Jimmy Holden of New Milford, Mark, Tim and Christopher Kallenbach, Michael Tiberio of Roxbury, and John, Robert and Randy Pineman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Robert W. Pineman, Herbert Pineman and August Pineman. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT. A celebration of life reception will follow from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at the Arion Singing Society, 411 Danbury Road, New Milford, CT.
