Sellner, H. ASCHER
Henry Ascher Sellner, MD, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013, at the age of 70. He was born on March 30, 1942, to Morton and Henrietta Sellner. Graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia College in 1963, he went on to graduate from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He loved practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology, doing so for 35 years in Danbury, CT, where he created Womancare, PC. Later in life, he traveled to Central America to bring his expertise to rural clinics. President for nine years, he was one of the founders of the Wilsons Disease Association. Dr. Sellner lived in Brookfield, CT, with his beloved Carol Spence Sellner, and their two dogs, Freckles and Sprinkie. He is survived by his three children, Daniel Sellner, Molly Sellner Harris, and Emily Sellner Kaplan, their mother, Sandra Sellner, his five grandchildren, his stepchildren Tren Spence, Tyler Spence, and Paige Spence-Berthiaume, and their six children. Dr. Sellner enjoyed antiquing, taste-testing bakeries, searching for unique items in hardware stores, travel and cruises, puttering in the garden, and finding the next best joke. The family will have a short memorial service on Wednesday, January 30, beginning at 5pm, and will receive guests until 8pm, at Ann's Place the Home of I Can, 80 Saw Mill Road, Danbury, CT, 06810.
