John Goulding

Goulding, John J.
John Joseph (Jack) Goulding, formerly of Hartsdale New York, died on February 11, 2014, at the Putnam Ridge Nursing home in Brewster New York, of cardiac arrest. He was 78 years old and will be remembered for his sense of humor and the twinkle in his eyes.
Mr. Goulding met Helen King, whom he would marry in 1959 after his return from serving in the Army in Korea, in New York City when they were in high school. They settled in Hartsdale, New York, where they raised three children. Mrs. Goulding worked for American Airlines corporate and WFAS radio station. Mr. Goulding worked for Scholastic Magazine and later became a restaurant and bar owner.
Mr. Goulding was very involved with Sacred Heart Elementary School in Hartsdale as a beloved Basketball coach. Mrs. Goulding was an active and respected member of Sacred Heart Parish. Mrs. Goulding died of Breast Cancer in 1997. Following his wife's death, Mr. Goulding moved to Brewster, New York, where he lived for the remaining days of his life.
Mr. Goulding is survived by three children and their spouses, John and Kim Goulding, of Fairfax, Virginia; Cathy Freeman and James Borland, of Sherman, Connecticut, and New York City; and Kevin and Michele Goulding of Singapore and Beijing, China, as well as seven grandchildren. A private service will be held at The Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
